Volunteer Opportunities 

Welcome to The American Youth Film Festival Volunteer Page and thank you for your interest in our volunteer opportunities.  Volunteer opportunities are available before, during and after the festival for highly organized, dedicated, enthusiastic individuals to be American Youth Film Festival Ambassadors.  Please complete The American Youth Film Festival ADULT or STUDENT volunteer form to help us determine the best position for your talents: 

 

Grand Jury

 

The ideal representatives are educators in the visual arts, more specifically media arts or graphic arts, at the secondary or post-secondary level or film enthusiasts who enjoy working with student filmmakers.  Jurors will view all student produced film online at the American Youth Film Festival page at FilmFreeway.com.  Each film is 15 minutes or less in length and can be rated within 5 -10 minutes.     

 

Festival Ambassadors

 

The ideal representative is someone who demonstrates an interest in media arts and a willingness to spread the word about The American Youth Film Festival (AYFF). These people should be students and/or faculty in local elementary, middle, high schools and colleges, they should also be proficient in social media with ability to create a buzz around the film festival, promoting workshops, screenings, panel discussions, tickets and t-shirts.

 

Panelists

 

The ideal representatives will have sufficient knowledge of the emerging film industry as it relates to student filmmakers.  These people may be faculty, film commission members, film industry professionals, student filmmakers, or film enthusiasts.  Topics may include, but are not limited to, future career opportunities, post-secondary options, industry related topics, etc...(ex. The Future of Filmmaking in Georgia and the South).

 

Workshop Facilitators

 

The ideal representative will have sufficient knowledge of the emerging film industry, photography, music, modeling, or other entertainment industry topics.  These people may be faculty, film commission members, film industry professionals, student filmmakers, or film enthusiasts.  Topics may include topics like, but are not limited to, Basics of TV/Film Production - Video Procedures - Crew Positions - Pre-Production Checklist

Video Equipment - Studio Cameras - Camcorders - Producer & Director Responsibilities, etc...

 

Photographers/Videogaphers 

The ideal representative will have sufficient knowledge of video equipment i.e. video cameras, still cameras, camcorders and/or the latest editing software. Representatives will be tasked with documenting the festival including, but not limited to, red carpet interviews, backstage activities, panel discussions, workshops and the awards ceremony.  Additionally, representative may document behind-the-scenes movie production of student filmmakers in their area.  NOTE: Representative must provide all equipment and supplies to complete volunteer activities.
